Combo photo shows a wayward elk found trapped in a private swimming pool in Johansfors, southern Sweden. After the pool was drained and a staircase built, all to no avail, police decided to tranquilize the elk and haul it out of its predicament with a forklift. Once free, the elk cow joined the calf that awaited anxiously across the street for more than a day. Ver más.

Artist's concept shows a supermassive black hole at the center of a remote galaxy digesting the remnants of a star. An international team of astronomers have found hundreds of expanding "supermassive" black holes buried deep inside galaxies billions of light years from Earth. The discovery is the first direct evidence that most, perhaps all, huge galaxies generated cavernous black holes during their youth, when about 3.5 billion years old. Ver más.
