SANTIAGO.-  Santiago’s Eighth Court of Appeals issued a unanimous ruling this morning denying  bail for the owner of “La casa del Espía”, Dante Yutronic, who is charged with intercepting telephone calls in the Rocha case.

The court, made up of Minister Conelio Villarroel, Mario Carroza and Attorney Carlos López Dawson, decided that, due to the numerous crimes Yutronic has been charged with, the circumstances under which they were committed and their severity, his release would constitute a danger to the investigation and also to society.

The court’s decision was met with approval from East Public Attorney Vinko Fodich, who is investigating the telecommunications crimes Yutronic allegedly committed in Santiago by intercepting phone calls from deceased auctioneer, Fernando Oliva and a sister in law of businessman Gerardo Rocha.

The public attorney has stated that the investigation still requires much work, making it necessary for Yutronic to remain in custody.
