SANTIAGO.- “What is the Concertación afraid of and why have they criticized the Mirage case debate scheduled to take place at the Senate?” asked UDI Secretary General Víctor Pérez, who also expressed that “this is a right of the Senate that must be respected”.

The senator stated that “there are many items to clear up in this case and the authorities that were in charge at the time are the ones who should deliver any information they possess”.

Víctor Pérez added that “the government and the Concertación should cooperate in this discussion and help to clear up what happened with the 12.2 billion dollars that were allocated to the commission payments that have still not been located”.

The senator stressed that “the Senate does not plan to put anyone on trial, rather we just want to know what happened and how the government is working with the courts on the case to determine who is responsible and what sanctions should be applied”.
