SANTIAGO.- Just as all other passengers arriving to Santiago from Mexico and the United States, the Chivas soccer team from Guadalajara arrived in Chile today under strict health regulations.

The Mexican club, which is scheduled to face Everton on Wednesday as part of the Copa Libertadores tournament, underwent a rigorous health control measures to rule out contamination of the swine flu outbreak that began in Mexico a few days ago.

The physician of the Mexican team, Narciso López, stated that the news has been sensationalized in other parts of the world.

"I think that the news has been exaggerated, even though there have been some cases detected and it has been confirmed that deaths were caused by the virus. The most important thing is to take the necessary measures so that this does not spread", he told Radio Cooperativa.

"As a medical recommendation, the players were told to do everything possible to avoid crowds, which is why when we arrived we went directly from the plane to our bus and then to our hotel", stated the physician.
