Senator Coloma: "The Alianza is going to take back at least 20 mayoral positions"
The president of the UDI has assured that special attention should be paid to the municipalities that are "regional leaders" this Sunday.

SANTIAGO.- While expressing his appreciation for the efforts that have been put forth by the 1,244 candidates that will represent his party at the upcoming municipal elections, the president of the UDI, Senator Juan Antonio Coloma, has let on that the Alianza can expect to take back at least 20 mayoral positions on Sunday, as well as a significant number of city councilor positions.
"With regards to mayors, the Concertación currently has 203 mayors and the Alianza has 104. I think that this gap is going to be reduced and we hope to win some 20 additional mayor positions", Coloma stated while indicating that the trend would also apply to city councilors and votes.
Without naming the municipalities that could make the difference, Coloma stated that the distance that currently separates the Alianza from the Concertación would be reduced by two or three points.
Faced with the scenario, the party leader explained that according to polls, "the Alianza will win more mayors, more town councilors and votes than in past municipal elections".
Coloma pointed out that special attention should be paid to the municipalities that serve as "regional heads" such as Arica, Iquique, Antofogasta, Valparaíso and Santiago among others, "where important changes may be observed concerning the balance of power".
