A cockchafer, or May bug, (Melolontha) crawls across a boy´s face in Bremen, northern Germany. In recent years, the cockchafer´s numbers have been increasing again, causing damage to over 1,000km of land all over Europe. While this may be due to reduced use of chemicals, some scientists also argue that, since the cockchafer thrives in warm and dry soils, the current increase in abundance may be related to climate change. Ver más.

More than 5.000 people participated today in a massive human chain around the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, which was "hugged" in order to promote and support its candidature to the New Seven Wonders of the World.
