SANTIAGO.- Chilean forward Sebastián González will be presented this afternoon as the fourth new addition to the Mexican soccer team, "Tecos de Guadalajara".
The team was recently abandoned by César Menotti and is now stocking up on players to begin the upcoming Mexican soccer season. González plans to join the team, leaving behind his dull 2007 performance in Argentina, where he played for the team "Olimpo de Bahía Blanca".
Carlos Briones, the athletic director for Tecos, has confirmed the acquisition. "A press release was issued as an invitation to his inauguration onto the team. Sebastián "Chamagol" González will, in fact, be our new player", he announced to local media.
González has played in Mexico before: according to the Wikipedia website, he racked up 89 goals in five years while playing for three different Mexican clubs (Atlante, Tigres and Veracruz). On the Tecos, González will play alongside fellow Chileans Hugo Droguett and Nelson Pinto.
