Volodia Teitelboim in critical condition

SANTIAGO.- 91 year-old writer and political leader Volodia Teitelboim is currently in extremely critical condition after being admitted to the Universidad Católica Clinical Hospital on January 15th of this year due to respiratory and kidney problems.


Teitelboim, a former secretary general for the Communist Party remains unresponsive to all stimul, while in a deep state of unconciousness. Doctors have indicated that he could pass away at any moment.


In room 611 of the UC Hospital, the writer is constantly accompanied by his secretary and caretaker, as well as by other leaders of the PC.


RN presidential candidate Sebastián Piñera and human rights attorney Pamela Pereira met to discuss Teitelboim's condition this morning.
