SANTIAGO. - Government Spokesperson Francisco Vidal asked that those responsible for the deaths of 36 year-old First Corporal Officer Carlos Patricio Cuevas Golmo and 30 year-old Second Corporal Officer Job Isaias Burgos Burgos, be sentenced to “shrivel in prison”. The murders occurred last night in the municipality of Quilicura.
After arriving at La Moneda, Vidal stated, “we are going to let the courts handle them and hopefully they will shrivel up in prison. The important part of this is the clear message that they are criminals”.
The suspects in the killings were arrested early this morning, although their identities have not yet been confirmed. The first suspect is a 29 year-old male and, according to preliminary information, the second individual captured by police may be a woman.
The suspects were brought into custody after law enforcement officers located the police car the assailants used to flee the scene in the La Chimba neighborhood of the Conchalí municipality.
The male suspect was found to be armed and has an extensive prior criminal record.
