SANTIAGO. - This week marks the beginning of the group phase of the Libertadores Cup for Chilean teams.  Audax Italiano will be the first on the field, competing against Sportivo Luqueño of Paraguay this Tuesday, 19th of February.

These “guaranies” of Paraguay arrive on the tail end of a 3-1 victory against Sol de America at the start of their local tournament. Trainer Daniel Lanata took advantage of the game as a sort of pre-cup test, and utilized a classic 4-4-2 formation. Seeing the positive results, he will probably repeat the formation for the game against Audax.

Luqueño classified for the Libertadores after being crowned champion of the 2007 open, following 54 long years without a championship title.

América classified for the Libertadores Cup as champion of the Mexican inter-league, but will debut against Universidad Católica with a previous loss in their disfavor.

During the Clausura tournament, the América “Aguilas” lost 1-0 last Saturday against Atlas.

Colo Colo is to go up against an Atlas team that classified for the continental tournament after winning a local game by 2-0, then losing by 0-1 against the Bolivian team La Paz FC in the previous phase.
