TEMUCO.- Two French nationals, who had previously filmed an attack on a farming field owned by René Urban, were beaten early this morning. Cyril Harrison and Paul Rossi had been walking through the Amancer area of Temuco when they were ambushed by approximately 10 individuals who asked them for cigarettes.
The French men were accompanied at the time by Jorge Huenchullan and had been on their way back from visiting Waikliaf Cadin, son of Mapuche Community Chief Juana Calfunao.
After Huenchulla and the two young Frenchmen refused to obey their request, the group of assailants proceeded to beat them, leaving the French nationals with minor abrasions, while Huenchullan received nasal injuries.
Huenchullan and the two Frenchmen were taken to the Hernán Henríquez Hospital in Temuco and later released to the “Consejo de Todas las Tierras”, where they are staying while in Temuco.
Police did not wish to release more details about the incident.
