SANTIAGO.- The president of the Production and Trade Confederation (CPC), Alfredo Ovalle, called leaders to implement a measure to combat high fuel prices.
Yesterday, ENAP announced that, beginning on Thursday of this week, fuel prices will undergo new increases: gasoline will increase by $18 pesos, diesel by $24 pesos and domestic kerosene by $25 pesos.
Ovalle explained that, despite the fact that the international market price for diesel fuel is to blame, national authorities should be aware of the problematic situation and evaluate a measure to address it.
The CPC president indicated that European countries such as England, France and Germany can be looked to as examples, since they have shown a special interest in the matter.
During his participation at the seminar, Ovalle also asked for more lobbying to approve electric projects, which he says are crucial for the country.
Ovalle also proposed the need to analyze all possible forms of generation without excluding any options.
