SANTIAGO.- Deputy and First Vice President of Chileprimero, Esteban Valenzuela, has issued a call to the government and all political groups to sit down and debate the country’s educational issues in a responsible manner, stressing that these topics are “strategic for the development of our society and they affect the lives of millions of citizens in need of intelligent solutions”.

Valenzuela requested that “municipal election campaign strategies be set aside in order to concentrate on social dialogue and political agreements that can truly benefit the nation”.

The deputy also offered some insight into what he believes is an important step for creating a new agreement that is “responsible and complete” maintaining, “the processing of the General Education Law should be halted in order to allow for crucial amendments that will create important long-term improvements in education and social opportunities within our country”.

“At Chileprimero, we are available to contribute to and support a renewed effort to exchange ideas, as a way of creating a future vision and a substantial agreement, which is why it is a good idea to postpone the processing of the new education law in order to allow for intelligent and thorough discussion”, Valenzuela asserted.
