SANTIAGO.- After Minister of the Presidency José Antonio Viera-Gallo stated yesterday that the Executive Branch would sincerely consider the demands set forth by the Alianza for Transantiago, Independent Democratic Union (UDI) Senator Jovino Novoa stated that the Minister of Transport, René Cortázar, has not done enough to improve the system.
According to Novoa, Minister Cortázar has done “little or nothing, frankly speaking, because you have to judge actions by their results, not by their intentions”.
Novoa also stated that “the changes that have been made are limited, they haven’t yielded results”.
In the senator’s opinion, “the only thing the current administration has done for more than a year now has been to focus on asking for money to compensate for the financial debt”.
Novoa maintained that of the 10 conditions presented by the Alianza, the most important concerns a creation of indices “that will allow us to objectively measure the improvements within the system in order to allocate funds in accordance with the advances being made”.
