Teenage boy dies after being stabbed by classmate in Talagante

SANTIAGO.- A 15 year-old died as onlookers watched in the Municipality of Talagante after a confrontation with a 17 year-old classmate.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the two boys, who belong to the municipality’s Liceo Polivalente A, had agreed to meet on school grounds to hold a fight, which ended in the death of one of the teens after he was stabbed in the torso.

The older of the two boys fled the scene after realizing the grave nature of his actions, leaving his wounded classmate to die in the street.

The victim, identified as having the initials D.O.M, passed away while in route to the hospital in Talagante, while the attacker decided to turn himself in after hearing of the boy’s death.

Captain Hector Soto indicated that the teenage confessed “freely and spontaneously” to the police that he had stabbed his classmate and that the incident “had been planned due to personal problems between the two of them”.
