Four robberies reported at stores and businesses in east Santiago

SANTIAGO.- Four violent robberies were reported early this morning at several stores and businesses located in eastern Santiago.

One of the break-ins at an Adidas store, located at the instersection of Avenida Pedro de Valdivia and Irarrázabal, in the Municipality of Ñuñoa, involved what is known as a "moon-landing" entrance.

During the robbery, a group of suspects used a vehicle to break through the security gate at the sports clothing store and steal an undetermined amount of merchandise.

According to Radio Cooperativa, a Wrangler jeans store located on Avenida Manuel Montt was also affected by a robbery. There, thieves broke the store's window panes with rocks and took 1.5 million pesos.

Meanwhile, a group of assailants also broke into a construction company located on the corner of Pedro de Valdivia Norte and Los Conquistadores, where they made off with several computers, laptops and plasma screens.

Finally, the Barros Zavala Company, located in Vitacura, reported that four individuals had taken four million pesos in computer equipment after using a vehicle to smash through a window.

Police are currently performing investigations in an attempt to reveal the identity of the various individuals involved in the robberies.
