SANTIAGO.- Four San Bernardo fire departments worked for more than four hours to put out a fire that consumed the warehouse of a metal company in the municipality, causing $60 million pesos in losses.

According to reports, the flames began (due to causes that are still being investigated) just after 4:00 AM and rapidly spread through the storage unit.

Esteban Bustamante, who is the owner of the company, has said that it does not possess insurance and will be forced to layoff 16 workers from the company.

The businessman added that the blaze may have been intentional, since employees cut off the electricity after their work-day and no flammable materials are used at the plants.
