SANTIAGO.- At least $20 million pesos worth of valuable goods were taken by a group of burglars who entered a private residence last night in Huechuraba.

According to preliminary reports, the individuals entered a residence located on Camino Cintura in the sector of Pedro Fontova, where they threatened the owner of the home, his wife and their five children. Some of the victims were reportedly tied up.

According to Radio Cooperativa, the suspects later searched the house for items of value and then stole the family's vehicle to flee the scene with cash, jewelry and electronics.

Meanwhile, in La Florida, three intruders stole five million pesos worth of items from a home after threatening the owners of the residence at the entrance to the house.

"Three unmasked guys came up, one had a gun and the others had knives, my brother was inside and he locked himself in to quickly call the police", stated one of the couple's children.

The burglars used the family's vehicle to flee the scene and later abandoned the car in Peñalolén.
