Residents admire the giant gushes of water released from the Xiaolangdi dam into the Yellow river, China´s "Mother River", winding 5,460kms (3,380 miles) from the Tibetan plateau in northern China´s Henan province. In the mid 1990´s, the Yellow river, which provides water for some 140 million people, repeatedly dried up in the lower reaches, prompting the govwernment to adjust water use and reservoir storage limits along its entire length. Ver más.
