A gold necklace from the second millenium BC, discovered in a royal tomb in the Syrian city off Homs, is displayed at the National Museum in Damascus. The museum is running the "Sea of Gold" exhibition this month, displaying rare pieces of gold discovered at historic sites throughout Syria, which formed the crossraods of the ancient world.

"Et At It" by Chilean artist Roberto Matta is seen on display at Sotheby's Auction house in New York. Sotheby's will hold its Latin American Art Sale November 20-21.
