La revista Rolling Stone publica los 100 mejores discos de metal de todos los tiempos

El primer puesto fue para Black Sabbath con el álbum "Paranoid", mientras que el segundo se lo adjudicó Metallica con el ochentero "Master of Puppets". A continuación el listado completo.

Black Sabbath cuenta con dos álbumes en el top 10 del listado.

SANTIAGO.- Pese a que el género se remonta a la década del 60, los especialistas apuntan al nacimiento como tal del metal con el debut discográfico de Black Sabbath en 1970, año en que la banda liderada por Ozzy Osbourne publicó su disco homónimo y Paranoid, pieza fundamental en la historia del rock.

Así lo consignó la revista Rolling Stone en un ránking de los 100 mejores discos de metal de todos los tiempos y que encabeza el segundo trabajo musical de los británicos. Asimismo, el listado contempla Black Sabbath —en el quinto puesto—, del mismo año.

Otro álbum relacionado al grupo de heavy metal también aparece dentro del top ten. Blizzard of Ozz (1980), el debut como solista de Osbourne ocupa el noveno lugar de la selección.

El segundo puesto lo ocupa el tercer disco de estudio de Metallica, Master of Puppets (1986). Mientras que los ingleses de Judas Priest y British Steel (1980) se quedaron con el puesto número tres.

The Number of the Beast (1982) de Iron Maiden se quedó con el cuarto puesto. Le sigue Black Sabbath con su álbum homónimo, Slayer con Reign in Blood (1986) y Motörhead con No Remorse (1984).

Para cerrar el top 10, el trash metal de Megadeth y su segundo disco de estudio Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? (1986) obtuvo el octavo lugar. Por su parte, Vulgar Display of Power (1992) de los estadounidenses de Pantera tienen el décimo puesto.

La lista dejó fuera a bandas que tuvieron inicios metaleros y luego se pasaron a otros géneros, así como también a algunas que actualmente se califican como exponentes clásicos del rock and roll (como es el caso de AC/DC, Kiss o Alice Cooper, entre muchos otros). La revista explicó, además, que la selección busca reflejar la diversidad, poder y legado del metal.
