LONDRES.- El álbum "Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band", de la banda inglesa The Beatles, obtuvo el primer lugar entre los 500 discos más importantes de la historia, según una encuesta realizada por la revista "Rolling Stone".
En segundo lugar quedó el disco "Pet Sounds", de los Beach Boys, seguido por "Revolver", también de los Beatles.
Entre los diez mejores álbumes, las bandas inglesas obtuvieron la mayoría de los puestos, incluido el séptimo lugar para los Rolling Stones con "Exile on Main Street" y el octavo para The Clash, con "London Calling".
