MONTEVIDEO.- The Uruguayan press was regretful today about the points that were missed at the home match, which could hinder the team's possibilities in the 2010 South Africa World Cup preliminaries.

"Sins that cost you", was the headline of "El Observador", and it added that having failed to win the first two home matches "could really cost them towards the end of the road to South Africa 2010".

"El País" also pointed out that the "charrúas" made "many mistakes and gave away two home team points". It assured that this would cause "a curse" because, as in former preliminaries, they will have to make calculations and pray that the results of the other teams favor them.

"Born to suffer: three matches and we already have the calculator in hand", was the headline of "La República", which asserted that Uruguay played with "more desire than ideas" and that Chile took a point for the first time in preliminaries from the Centenario Stadium.

"Últimas Noticias" considered Chile had taken "two golden points" from Uruguay. It compared the four points that the "charrúas" have in these preliminaries to the former qualifying tournaments and concluded that this one is the "worst of beginnings".
