TALCA.- Senator Juan Antonio Coloma (UDI) has requested that the regional public prosecutor, Fernando Coloma, name a special attorney to be exclusively in charge of  investigating the numerous cases regarding theft of cables that have been reported lately in the area.

"It's scandalous that our region is being affected by these acts. We know that the police put forth an effort and that many public attorneys are investigating, but the moment has come to put on the long pants", he said.

This was how Juan Antonio Coloma stressed that the offenses have caused a great public commotion. "The community cannot escape unharmed, because sixty thousand families have suffered the effects of these robberies due to blackouts", he stated.

The senator emphasized that he would personally deliver the request today to the new National Public Attorney, Sabas Chahuán, and reminded people that, according to "El Centro", the lead public attorney for West Santiago was in charge of investigating the shipment of containers with millions of kilograms of copper cables to China.
