SANITAGO.- The new Government Secretary General, Francisco Vidal, stated that he was surprised by the amount of criticism he has received after being appointed to the position by President Michelle Bachelet.

The state secretary expressed that the comments and insults made by the Alliance "hurt him", but stated that he will not be pulled into the situation by responding, in order to avoid upsetting the political atmosphere.

"They called me an undertaker, executioner, wolf that unleashed the dogs, which I imagine is supposed to mean that I am a dog, and this only confirms the need for me to stay out of that game", he said.

During an interview with TVN, Vidal asserted that they have made comments about him that are "personal or adjectivally personal, which is not my problem, but I think that it really hurts the political atmosphere, I think it's as far away as it can be from ordinary people, which make up 99% of Chileans".
