SANTIAGO.- According to a ranking developed by the public entity, the Metropolitan Technological University (UTEM) is the superior education institution with the highest number of complaints filed to the National Consumer Rights Service (Sernac).
The study revealed 1,006 complaints for every 10 thousand registrations at the UTEM, which was followed by the University of Information Sciences (UCINF) with 307, the Ibero-American University of Science and Technology (UNICIT) with 201, Pedro de Valdivia University with 153 and Los Lagos University with 93.
The largest concentration of complaints was found to be within the subjects of publicity and information, due to differences perceived by students regarding what was offered and what was actually provided by the institution.
In the case of Professional Institutes and Vocational Training Centers, more than 70 institutions had had complaints registered at Sernac.
The analysis performed was based on complaints that were filed between January and October of 2007.
