SANTIAGO.- The AFP office in Santiago has announced that Pension Funds type A, B, C and D received negative earnings during November 2007, and that the situation can be largely explained by the fall observed in varying income investments during the last month.
The value of Pension Funds reached $109.477 billion U.S. dollars on November 30th, 2007, which represents an increase of $13.882 billion U.S. dollars (14.5%) when compared to the same date last year.
Real profitability of the different Pension Fund Types during November of this year was: -5.64% for Fund A, -4.75% for Fund B, -3.64% for Fund C, -2.08% for fund D and 0.22% for Fund E.
The amount invested abroad by Pension Funds reached $38.357 billion U.S. dollars in September of 2007. This amount represents 35.9% of the total value of the Funds, which reached an overall value of $106.854 billion U.S. dollars.
