SANTIAGO.- DC senator Jorge Pizarro overtly denied the accusation made against him by Interior Minister, Belisario Velasco, who claimed that the Member of Parliament had threatened him in order to obtain the removal of the governor of Choapa, Gisella Mateluna.

Pizarro stated that "he (Velasco) is making an unforgivable falsification for a minister, for a Vice President of the Republic. I have never threatened anyone in my life; it is not something I am accustomed to doing".

During an interview with TVN, the legislator maintained that the Interior Minister "is profoundly mistaken, because the only time we have spoken was a while back when I informed him of what Choapa Governing officials had communicated to me with respect to feeling persecuted".

The DC politician explained that his actions reflect "a political critique of the path taken by the Government, the political team and also some of the sectarian ministries. This is part of my responsibility as a Member of Parliament, as a leader, and I have the right to do it".
