SANTIAGO.- Senator Jorge Pizarro of the Christian Democracy party (DC) gave a positive assessment today of the people who have been added to President Michelle Bachelet's cabinet, deeming them "a team that corresponds to the needs of the government".

According to Pizarro, the general criticism that has been made regarding the arrival of state secretaries who are repeating terms, "is ridiculous, it's trivial, because what the President needs is people with experience, with ability and who are representative of their constituency".

Pizarro acknowledges that, in his opinion, the new group of ministers may not perfectly measure up to the expectations of his party's leader, Soledad Alvear, but stressed that the new cabinet members have everything needed to fulfill the positions they have been assigned and that they ensure the representation of the Concertación.

Nevertheless, the senator emphasized the need for the change to be "complemented at the sub-secretary level as well as in other departments and in the assessment of regional governments, because this is a task for the whole government, not just one person".
