Copper climbs 3.45% to its highest value in two months

The red metal closed at $ 3.33436 U.S. dollars, bringing the monthly and yearly average to $ 3.15958 U.S. dollars.

LONDON.- Copper closed with a new upswing today of 3.45% at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for $ 3.33436 U.S. dollars per pound of "grade A",  this compared to $3.22323 U.S. dollars on Tuesday and $ 3.13682 U.S. dollars on Monday.


As a result, the monthly and yearly average rose to $ 3.15958 U.S. dollars.


Today's value is the highest for the red metal since November 7th of 2007, when it traded for $ 3.37972 U.S. dollars.


The future-3-month price ended at $ 3.34320 per pound, up 3.22% from Tuesday ($ 3.23888).


At the LME, stocks decreased by 225 metric tons to 200,750.  So far this year, an overall increase of 3,300 MT (+1.67%) has been accumulated.
