SANTIAGO. - Chilean tenor Tito Beltrán listened calmly and attentively to the allegations against him and periodically glanced at a photo of his son as he underwent the first stages of the trial against him for sexual abuse being held in Ystad Sweden.

Beltrán´s legal proceedings began just after 9:00 this morning. An impressive mass of media consisting of dozens of photographers and T.V. cameras made a commotion as the court opened its doors to begin the trial.

According to the online version of the newspaper “Aftonbladet”, one of the many media outlets covering the case, the trial began with an opening statement made by Public Attorney Anna Håkansson describing the nanny’s version of the incident.

The Chilean singer’s defense attorney, Tomas Nilsson, then delivered another version of the incident stating that the nanny was in fact alone in the artist’s room to give him a massage, which led to caressing and kissing by mutual consent.
