Book of Chilean art to be presented in London at the Tate Modern

The book, "Copying Eden: Recent Art from Chile", documents and analyzes the development of Chilean art since the 1970's.

SANTIAGO.- "Copying Eden: Recent Art from Chile" is scheduled to be unveiled at the Tate Modern in London, considered to be the most important modern art gallery in England.


The book documents the evolution of contemporary art in Chile throughout the last 30 years, offering new historical and analytical information regarding visual art in Chile.


The text, which will be presented by well-known curators and writers on January 25th of this year, offers a 650-page analysis of the evolution of contemporary art in Chile from the year 1973 through the present.


"Copying Eden" also features more than 500 color images of artwork from 74 artists, some of whose names are widely recognized, and some who represent up- and-coming talent.


The artists appear in alphabetical order and every piece of art is accompanied by a detailed written interpretation.
