SANTIAGO.- The pending paperwork was filed this morning as Chiledeportes sent the national response to ASO (Amaury Sport Organization) requirements for hosting the 2009 "Dakar Series" (off-road endurance race) in Chile.

"This morning the formal letter, which I signed yesterday afternoon in fact, was sent, containing everything that had been requested of us as a State, as a country, as a government", explained the Government Secretary General, Francisco Vidal.

The document contains all of the details about how the country will support the race's pass through Chilean territory: a customs process for the caravan of 2,500 people, economic aid to fund transfers from Europe to South America, as well as the implementation of security measures and lodging facilities between major stopping points, which correspond to the magnitude of the event.

"We just have to wait (for an answer)", added Vidal.

"From our point of view, considering the conditions that we have offered, we should be able to have it (the rally in Chile). However, we don't make the decision, they do", Vidal concluded.
