SANTIAGO.- The Chilean National Soccer Team returned in two groups from Asia after playing two friendly matches against Japan (0-0) and South Korea (1-0).

Despite being drowsy from the 32-hour trip, the team (coached by Marcelo Bielsa) arrived satisfied, not only because they left Asia undefeated, but also because neither of their two opponents managed to get past goalkeeper Miguel Pinto to score against them.

Pinto took the liberty of highlighting the efforts put forth by the team's defense, as well as his own performance.

"I am happy with the way I played and am satisfied because they didn't score any goals against me. I would also like draw attention to our team's defense, which was a fundamental part of why we went undefeated", said Pinto.

Another person who spoke about the team's performance in Tokyo and Seoul was defensive player Hans Martínez.

"I am really happy, the three of us in the back (Gary Medel and Gonzalo Jara played with him as stoppers) were really confident about the matches, even though not many people believed in us (…) We knew that we could do it", said the UC defense player.

The players were taken by bus to the Juan Pinto Durán complex and then allowed to return to their respective teams.
