SANTIAGO.- Despite Audax Italiano's rough start at the Apertura tournament and the poor performance of the team's star player Carlos Villanueva, the group set off for Bogotá today, harboring hopes of victory that could cement their classification to Group 7 of the Copa Libertadores tournament.
The team is poised to go up against team Boyacá Chico (sixth among the Colombian soccer league) in a deciding match for the pre-Libertadores phase.
This morning, the team seemed very confident about a positive outcome against Chicó.
According to defensive player Sebastián Roco, "even though we know that the Colombian teams are strong, we are very confident that we can save some points and classify in Santiago".
Upon classification, Audax Italiano would join Group 7 alongside Sao Paulo, Sportivo Lugueño (Paraguay) and Atlético Nacional (Colombia).
