Copper continues its plunge at the London Metal Exchange

The red metal fell 0.29%, to $ 3.25725 U.S. dollars.

SANTIAGO.- Copper closed with a 0.29% drop at the London Metal Exchange (LME) today after trading for $ 3.25725 U.S. dollars per pound of "grade A", compared to $ 3.26677 U.S. dollars on Tuesday and $ 3.30896 U.S. dollars on Monday.


With today's price the monthly average reached $ 3.29116 U.S. dollars, while the yearly average rose to $ 3.21642 U.S. dollars.


The future-3-month price ended at $ 3.26133 per pound, down -0.33% from Tuesday ($ 3.27206 U.S. dollars).


At the LME, stocks decreased by 2,800 metric tones, to 171,195. So far this year, an overall drop of 25,475 MT (-12.90%) has been registered.
