SANTIAGO. -  After a quick elimination from the Viña del Mar ATP tournament, Chilean tennis player Nicolás Massú (ATP no. 94) does not want to miss a chance to recover his game and cement his position as Chile´s number-two tennis star.

His first obstacle in achieving this will be to defeat Spanish player Nicolás Almagro (no. 31) whom he is set to face at approximately 4:00 PM at the Brazilian Costa de Sauípe tournament, which is offering a grand prize of 485 thousand U.S. dollars.

Massú is hoping for a swift victory against Almagro, whom he has faced on two previous occasions.  Almagro took the first match played between the two in 2006 at the Masters Series in Rome.  The second time the players met, however, was a triumph for Massú at the Costa de Suípe tournament during that same year.

If he can pass on to the second round, Massú will then go up against Serbian player Boris Pashanski (no. 101).  Pashanski mastered a crushing defeat against Argentine Martín Vassallo Argüello (no. 98) during the first day of the tournament with a score of 6-4, 6-4.
