SANTIAGO. -  A new fine of almost 35 million pesos has been issued to both the B. Braun Medical laboratory and the company Watt’s by Seremi de Salud Metropolitano (The Ministry of Health in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago) after the organization performed tests on the nutritional supplement “ADN líquido” revealing differences between the actual composition of the product and what was indicated on the product label.

The inconsistency could produce Hypokalemia (low potassium levels) in those who consume the product.  The condition has already been reported in the deaths of three minors in the country (one in Antofogasta and two in Santiago).

The Seremi Metropolitana organization has already seized 99 metric tons ADN powder and 56 thousand liters of liquid ADN, which will be disposed of in an authorized landfill during the next few days.
