Codelco adamant over road block at El Teniente mine and announces plans to litigate

The state-run mine expressed that “nothing justifies these illegal actions carried out by a small minority”.

RANCAGUA. -  In the midst of a road block executed by subcontracted workers today at one of the access roads to El Teniente mine, Codelco has manifested their rebuttal of the violent actions and has announced that they plan to press criminal charges at the Prosecutor’s office.


In response to the situation, El Teniente prolonged the C Shift that was already in progress when the road block started. The copper mine also conveyed that close to two thousand employees have been prevented from accessing their work stations.


The company stated that “nothing justifies these illegal actions carried out by a small minority”.
