SANTIAGO. - At around 11:15 this morning a proceeding is to be held in which formal charges will be brought against Carlos Muñoz Pavez. He is implicated in the robbery of the Trendy refrigerator company and the subsequent murder of corporals Carlos Cuevas and Job Burgos of the 49th commissary in the neighborhood of Quilicura on Tuesday night.
Muñoz Pavez was arrested last night at the Ciudad del Niño subway station by law enforcement officials of the OS-9 station, who captured him as he was leaving the station. He did not resist arrest.
He is to be charged for the crime of violent robbery by the prosecutors for the case, Ulises Berríos and Francisco Ledezma, who will only address the robbery in this proceeding, and will then pass the case on to the Fifth Military Public Prosecutor.
The other three individuals arrested in the case were transferred under the escort of a large armed police contingency that included submachine guns, from the OS-9 police station in Ñuñoa to the quarters of the Public Prosecutor.
