SANTIAGO. - In addition to the intensive investigation being executed by law enforcement to capture the killers of two police officers who were shot in Quilicura on Tuesday night, throughout the night police investigators mounted an extensive operation at a national scale that has allowed for the detention of more than 400 wanted criminals.

The operation began last night with the objective of capturing offenders who have committed a wide variety of crimes. Security check points made this possible.

With these measures, investigators were able to detain numerous felons who have warrants out for their arrest, the majority of which are involved in micro-trafficking.

One of the most significant arrests was that of a Chilean and a Brazilian in the municipality of Ñuñoa. According to police sources, the pair had made purchases amounting to over 12 million pesos with a collection of cloned credit cards.
