SANTIAGO. - The problems keep coming for Concepción Sports. After being limited to having only local athletes on the field due to a severance pay dispute, they now have to deal with a strike.
The Concepción players decided to go on strike yesterday to protest unpaid salaries that remain in the possession of a concessionary partner of the team, “León de Collao”. They are owed 48 million pesos corresponding to January of this year.
The managers have assured that everything will be solved within the next few hours, but the players are distrustful and will not end the strike until they are paid “in full”.
“Until they pay us, we are not going to play”, explained forward Daud Gazale.
The goal-keeper added that they have yet to see the managers and “are impatient, this is a difficult situation, but it has made us stronger as a team”.
Gazale stated that they trained like usual this morning, but not on the property of the Concepción Sports.
