Criminals make off with more than 15 million pesos after robbing a construction site

The armed suspects held up the caretaker, her daughter and grandchild and tied up three of the workers who were building a condominium.

SANTIAGO. - More than 15 million pesos in tools, construction materials and cash were stolen by individuals who raided a piece of property in the neighborhood of Lampa last night where a new condominium is being constructed. 


The incident occurred at 10:30pm when the armed individuals came in through the back of the property and entered the home of the caretaker, Rosenda Molina Figueroa, age 46.  They held up the woman and her daughter, Maria Umaña (19), as well as her granddaughter (4) who was also in the home at the time.


At that point they moved on to confine the workers who were also on the property, tying them up by their hands and feet. 


The robbers then divided up, with some of them watching over the captives while the rest ransacked the property, taking 25 truck tires, cash, and materials intended for the construction of 8 houses on the property of three hectares.
