11 year old attempts to set fire to home of man accused of child abuse

SANTIAGO. - An eleven year old boy was taken into police custody at the 45th Commissary of Cerro Navia after trying to set fire to the home of Pedro Pincheira. Pincheira was arrested yesterday along with his spouse for the physical and psychological abuse of their six children over a period of one year.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:35am this morning, when police who were guarding the property of Pincheira caught the minor with the initials M.A.R.P trying to throw a homemade torch into the house.

According to police, nobody was in the home at the time.

Following his detention, the Judge of Pudahuel, Cristina Fernández, turned M.A.R.P over to the custody of his mother so that she could appear with him in court at 9:00am today.

Pedro Pincheira and his spouse, Margarita Oliveros will also have charges brought against them today. As they were taken to court, the woman insisted in her innocence: “I haven’t done anything, anything at all, leave me alone, I’ve done nothing to you”, she screamed.
