Nelly Furtado, the anticipated star of this year’s Festival, arrives to Viña

VIÑA DEL MAR. -  At this moment, Nelly Furtado, her physical form and her general state upon arrival in Chile for the Viña del Mar International Song Festival, are shrouded in mystery.  Rumors, of course, are flying.

The Canadian musician arrived at the Santiago International Airport at 7:00am this morning, avoiding cameras and the swarm of expectant fans and exiting through the VIP terminal.  She went directly to the “Garden City” of Viña del Mar and is currently resting in her presidential hotel suite at the Hotel Sheraton Miramar.

The singer of “I’m like a bird” and “Promiscuous” will give a press conference at 4:30pm today. There is also speculation that she might make a special appearance on the “Viña tiene Festival” (Viña has a Festival) program of the TVN network, hosted by Rafael Araneda and Karen Doggenweiler.
