SANTIAGO. - President Michelle Bachelet resumed executive activities at 8:15 AM this morning after leading the first political committee meeting at her home last night after returning from her vacation.
Upon her arrival at La Moneda, the President was honorably welcomed by palace guards.
On Sunday night, the Chief of State led a political committee meeting marked by the current crisis in the Ministry of Education over a report released by the National General Comptroller, which detected severe irregularities in the issuance of school subsidies.
At the end of the meeting, Government Spokesperson Francisco Vidal explained that “the President is completely informed regarding the situation and we have come to the conclusion that the matter is in the hands of the Comptroller”.
During last night’s meeting, the President also addressed the various political reforms on the legislative agenda for the administration’s “second half”. The reforms are part of the agenda proposed by Minister of the Interior, Edmundo Pérez Yoma.
