SANTIAGO. -  Last night, after the first political meeting held since the President’s return from her vacation on Friday, Government Secretary General Francisco Vidal continued to defend the Minister of Education, Yasna Provoste, in the midst of a scandal concerning educational subsidies and deemed the matter to be closed.

“The documents and the facts confirm that the Minister of Education acted in time”, stated Vidal.

Vidal, surprised by the expectations of the press, maintained that during the meeting held last night at the home of Bachelet, “we addressed, as we should have, all of the issues, this was a completely normal political committee” he stated.

When asked about the possible constitutional charges against the Minister of Education by Alianza members of parliament, Vidal dismissed the importance of the matter.
