SANTIAGO.- The Independent Democratic Union (UDI) will wait until tomorrow to decide whether or not it will join in on the constitutional charges being filed against Minister of Education, Yasna Provoste, for her alleged responsibility regarding administrative irregularities in school subsidies detected by the Office of the Comptroller.
José Antonio Kast, head of the party’s board of directors, also explained that his party plans to listen to Yasna Provoste’s the statements at the Chamber’s Educational Commission on Tuesday before issuing a final decision.
Despite acknowledging his personal opinion that the constitutional charges against Provoste should go ahead, Kast stressed the importance of an internal debate between both parties and said that he is also anticipates the minister’s appearance in Parliament.
"We will have a board meeting tomorrow, and so will the National Rennovation (RN), where the final decision will be made", he added.
