SANTIAGO. -  President Michelle Bachelet´s approval rating remained stable during February, registering at 42.3 percent according to the latest Adimark-GFK poll.

The rate of disapproval for the President is currently at 39.4 percent – one percentage point higher than in January, when it was reported at 38.6%.

The head of Adimark, Roberto Méndez, explained that the percentages do not show any significant changes from the previous month and that, for the third month in a row, the president’s approval rating is higher than her disapproval rating.

Regarding the administration of other ministries, the survey shows a new dip in public opinion about management within Ministry of Education.  Regardless, the sector still received a positive evaluation, reporting a 46% approval rating.

According to Méndez, “the controversy surrounding the irregular subsidy payment scandal has not affected public opinion about the educational system, but has increased the perception of irregularities in State institutions”.

Meanwhile, the Transantiago transportation system has managed to improve its evaluation — reaching an approval rating of 19%.
