Econsult: Gas prices likely to increase by 2 pesos next Thursday

SANTIAGO. -  According to projections made by Econsult, gas prices could rise by 2 pesos, while diesel may drop by 4 pesos beginning on March 13th of 2008.

Econsult has reported that if their projections hold, the price of gasoline 93 would drop by 0.3% (2 pesos); gasoline 97 would rise by approximately 6 pesos; and diesel fuel would fall by approximately 4 pesos.

The estimates were made using this morning’s exchange rate of 445 pesos to the U.S. dollar, along with U.S. Gulf Coast market prices to calculate the fuel stabilization fund (FEPC) for gasoline and diesel.

Econsult added that the estimates reflect a rise of 0.6% in the international price of gasoline 93 (unleaded 87), 2.9% for gasoline 97 (unleaded 93) and a 2.9% rise in the international price of diesel fuel.
